Day 1
- List the three components of Self-Compassion
- Describe key research that supports the benefits of self-compassion
- Define Mindfulness and mindful self compassion
- Practice an Affectionate Breathing Meditation
- Define emotional resistance (e.g. “backdraft”) and how it creates unnecessary distress
- List the “adaptive” functions of self-criticism, and how to motivate ourselves with compassion instead
Day 2
- Practice a “Giving and Receiving Compassion” meditation
- Practice a Soften, Soothe and Allow Meditation
- Define shame, and how self-compassion is the antidote for shame
- Define Caregiver Fatigue, and the signs and symptoms of caregiver fatigue
- Practice a Self-Compassion with equanimity meditation
- Define “negativity bias” and how it is hardwired in our brains
